The Texas Musical Theatre Workshop combines a core set of studio classes taught by university faculty with master classes taught by Broadway professionals. All classes divide our student artists into smaller groups and focus on acting, singing, dancing, auditioning and performance skills. You will also participate in a performance project, culminating in a final performance for family and friends in the B. Iden Payne Theatre.
Classes meet from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout each week, with rehearsals for the performance project and other fun activities scheduled most evenings between 7 and 9 p.m.
Students will also have the extraordinary opportunity to observe the development of new musicals by attending the staged readings of works in progress at TXMTW before they are commercially produced.
